Large marijuana lab discovered in Belgrade: 1,000 planted pots seized

In several separate operations, the Belgrade police discovered an illegal laboratory for growing marijuana, seized about 1,000 planted pots and several kilograms of various types of narcotics and arrested five people suspected of committing the crime of unauthorized production and distribution of narcotics.

Police officers arrested M.P. (40) after searching an apartment in the Belgrade municipality Zvezdara where he was staying unregistered and finding about 530 grams of cocaine and a scale for precise measurement.

In another operation, the police discovered a laboratory for growing marijuana in artificial conditions in Savski Venac, seized a number of potted plants and arrested I.G. (38) and S.P. (32).

A.D. (40) was also arrested after about 500 grams of hashish, about 500 grams of paracetamol, as well as a scale for precise measurement were seized in an apartment he was staying in, in Cukarica.

In yet another police action, A.C. (34) was arrested when about 50 grams of heroin were found in his possession. A.D. will be detained for up to 30 days, while the other suspects are detained for up to 48 hours, after which they will be brought before the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, along with criminal complaints.
