A young man, Aleksa S. (26), who died at the Nis Clinical University Center (UKC) as a result of injuries he suffered under as yet unexplained circumstances sustained during a birthday party in a restaurant in Aleksinac, previously posted photos from this party on social networks.

As the photos testify, Aleksa enjoyed his company and the celebration with a smile, not even imagining that those would be the last moments of his life.

The party ended with the end of this young life.

The unfortunate young man lived with his grandparents in Aleksinac.

As Telegraf.rs has found out, Aleksa worked in a store. In his free time, he practiced football. The mother of the unfortunate late young man works in Sweden.

Police intervened

As we learned earlier, the police intervened last night at around 8 pm after a fight was reported to them.

"The police received a report of a serious bodily injury around 8 pm. A young man was transferred to the Clinical Center in Nis, and the police are working intensively to shed light on the case," Telegraf learned earlier from the Ministry of the Interior.

"The young man was unconscious, several guests in the restaurant tried to help him. Although he had no visible injuries, the diagnosis established that he had internal brain bleeding, due to which his life was endangered. After he was given first aid in the hospital in Aleksinac, he was transported to the University Clinical Center in Nis for further treatment," our interlocutors familiar with this case said earlier.

It is still being determined in what way the young man was injured, whether someone hit him or if he fell and hit his head on the concrete. The police are working to shed light on the events, and the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Aleksinac and the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Nis have also been informed, considering that there were minors among the patrons whose presence there is the subject of this judicial institution's jurisdiction.

A cousin of the victim said that a fight broke out at some point between the young men.

"Aleksa drew the short end of the stick and was thrown out of the restaurant onto the curb. Someone then called his cousin, who is a doctor in the Aleksinac hosptial, who attempted resuscitation, but he was in such a condition that they had to transfer him to the Nis clinical center immediately," the cousin told Novosti.

Ivica Ilic, a work colleague of the victim, says he learned the horrendous news from Aleksa's grandmother.

"She called me this morning around 8, to tell me he is injured and would not come to work. She soon called me again, crying and saying to me that he was gone. He worked here for five, six years, a wondergful guy, an athlete. He didn't smoke, he'd rarely drink. I feel very badly, I wanted to close the shop, but then again it's easier to me to withstand this day with other people around, rather than all by myself," said Ilic.
