The Institute of Public Health of the Serb Republic (RS) today issued new recommendations for wedding ceremonies and similar events during the coronavirus pandemic. Up to 70 people are now allowed to gather at private celebrations, while up to 120 citizens will be able to attend public events going forward.

"When performing live music, it is necessary to provide a distance of four meters between the stage and the tables. Activities that involve close physical contact (dancing, hugging, kissing, etc.) are not recommended unless they involve members of the same household or people who are usually in close contact," the statement said.

It is recommended that all celebrations, whenever possible, are organized outdoors while the number of guests should be kept to a minimum. The maximum number should be in accordance with the currently valid conclusion of the Republic HQ for Emergency Situations of the RS, i.e. 70 people at private and 120 at public gatherings.

"The organizer of wedding parties is responsible in accordance with the measures in force. The organizer appoints a responsible person who makes sure that the measures are respected. The organizer of a wedding ceremony keeps records of the guests present (records include name, last name and contact phone number)," said the Institute of Public Health.

Persons who exhibit symptoms of an infectious disease, such as fever, respiratory symptoms such as coughing and shortness of breath, sore throat, malaise, muscle aches, diarrhea, vomiting, or are suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19, as well as those who have been in contact with persons suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 ,may not attend these parties.

The Institute also said that it is necessary to install a disinfectant dispenser at the entrance to the venue.

"It is necessary to provide good ventilation in enclosed spaces, while owners of the premises are recommended to provide as much fresh air as possible. Before and after organizing celebrations, it is necessary to thoroughly clean and ventilate the space," said the Institute.
