Lavrov offers condolences over Lazanski's death: He invested his soul in Serbia-Russia relations

Lazanski had been the Serbian ambassador to Russia since 2019

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday sent his condolences to the head of Serbian diplomacy Nikola Selakovic on the occasion of the death of the ambassador of Serbia to Russia, Miroslav Lazanski.

"We are deeply shocked by the news of the untimely death of Ambassador of Serbia to the Russian Federation Miroslav Lazanski. We have known Miroslav for many years as a great journalist and publicist, a great connoisseur of geopolitical and military aspects of the situation in the Balkans and in the world," said the message of Lavrov's condolences.

He said that Lazanski was sincerely committed to his country and work, and proceeding from that, he approached the obligations of the ambassador of Serbia in Moscow and invested his soul in the development of relations between the two countries.

"We have lost another true supporter of the strengthening of the Russian-Serbian brotherhood. That is exactly how we will remember Miroslav Lazanski," Lavrov wrote.

"Please accept my deepest condolences for this irreparable loss, and please convey words of sympathy to the family and friends of Miroslav Lazanski," Lavrov added in the telegram.

Lazanski had been the Serbian ambassador to Russia since 2019.
