President of the Republic Aleksandar Vucic today attended a meeting with the military leadership at the House of Guards in Belgrade's Topcider neighborhood, at which the results of the analyses of the situation, operational and functional capabilities of the Serbian Army for 2021 were presented.

Reintroducing compulsory military service is always a current topic, and the minister of defense explained what is awaited in order to make a decision.

"We said that we first want the public debate to end, to discuss it in the widest forums in the country. As we are learning about the positions of the professionals, the General Staff has presented its position, we will assess all the effects and then present it to the National Assembly (or not), but we did not talk about it during this meeting today," said Nebojsa Stefanovic.

The presentation of the analyses is the main activity of the Serbian Army in January, which is always attended by the Collegium of the Minister of Defense and the Collegium of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. President Vucic was saluted in Topcider by the Guard unit of the Serbian Army.

The meeting was attended by Defense Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic, Chief of Staff General Milan Mojsilovic, Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin, Serbian National Assembly President Ivica Dacic, and chairs of Assembly Committees on Defense and Interior Aleksandar Markovic and Security Service Control Igor Becic, as well as Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic.
