In a telephone conversation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed Belgrade's clear position in international instances regarding the war in Ukraine and the need to respect the sovereignty of states, Macron's office announced on Sunday.

Macron stressed the close cooperation between the two countries and reminded of the friendship between France and his personal support for Serbia.

He assessed that the war in Ukraine requires that the EU and all countries close to it, and especially those that, like Serbia, have a European perspective, jointly consider ways and means to further strengthen ties and build a common future for all Europeans.
