Branko Ruzic, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, announced that he was banned from entering Kosovo and Metohija today.

He says that although he duly and in a timely manner, in accordance with all procedures and agreements, announced his visit during which he was supposed to attend the Day of the University of Pristina (with temporary headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica), which is traditionally organized on Vidovdan, June 28 every year, his entry was not allowed.

The decision to prevent the minister from attending the ceremonial session on the occasion of the day of one of our most important universities is another in a series of events that confirm the brazen attitude of the provisional authorities in Pristina and their unwillingness to compromise and respect any agreement.

"The ceremony, celebrating education and knowledge, does not endanger the provisional Pristina authorities in any way, but it seems that they nevertheless perceive the tradition and strength of our education as a threat," Ruzic concluded.
