Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic says that 492 workers from the Fiat plant in Kragujevac who have been made redundant will receive their severance pay by the end of the day.

"Everything was agreed on Saturday, during a meeting with President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic. The level of severance pay has been agreed and 492 workers who have been declared redundant will receive their severance pay by the end of the day," Brnabic told RTS.

She said that the state continues to fight for all other workers, adding that in the previous days, as well as this morning, she had talks with Stellantis.

"Ours, but also their wish is for as many workers as possible out of the remaining 1,500, to stay. I told them that they have to further improve the offer and so they came up with a 3 plus 1 offer: you work in Slovakia or Poland for three months, and then in Kragujevac for a month," she added.

Also, the prime minister stressed that it is now up to the workers and trade unions to communicate and see if there will be enough workers who are ready to accept such an offer.
