Albanian journalist Jehona Hulaj announced on Twitter on Sunday evening that "the Kosovo government announced that it postponed the decision on reciprocity for license plates and ID cards until September 1."

The decision of the Pristina authorities followed a meeting between the US ambassador to Pristina, Jeff Hovenier, and the authorities there.

Hovenier, as reported by the media, asked the government of Albin Kurti to postpone the start of the implementation of the measures for a month, due to what he said was a "misunderstanding of their implications."

President Vjosa Osmani also attended the meeting.
