President Vucic receives Congressman Turner: Serbia making efforts towards sustainable agreement with Pristina

Vucic expressed his gratitude for Washington's continued support for Serbia's path to full EU membership

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic spoke today in Belgrade with US Congressman Michael Turner to stress that Serbia is making a huge effort in the EU-mediated dialogue, as the only real way to reach a sustainable agreement with Pristina and to resolve crisis situations caused by the unilateral moves of the authorities there.

He stressed that this is in accordance with Serbia's policy of peace and stability in the region, to which it contributes by respecting the Dayton Agreement and the integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), including the integrity of the Serb Republic (RS) within (BiH), the president's press service announced.

Turner said that he greatly appreciates the leadership of President Vucic and his role in maintaining peace and stability in the region, as well as that he is impressed by Serbia's economic results.

He stated that every time he comes to Serbia, it is evident that our country is getting closer to the European Union. He also praised Open Balkan as an important initiative for regional cooperation.

Vucic said that Serbia is committed to as meaningful as possible cooperation with the US administration, and that improvement of relations between Serbia and the US is of the greatest importance, especially in the field of economy. He also stated that trade between the two countries is at a record level and will exceed 1.2 billion dollars for the first time.

Vucic expressed his gratitude for Washington's continued support for Serbia's path to full EU membership, which he said Serbia is working hard on with the necessary reforms.

Vucic and Turner noted that cooperation with the Ohio National Guard gives a strong impetus to the overall relations between Serbia and the US.
