Blinken an Vucic speak on the phone about Serbia's energy stability, situation in Ukraine, Kosovo and Metohija

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke on the phone with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic about bilateral relations, the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Serbia's energy stability and the situation in Ukraine.

As reported by the State Department, Blinken, in his conversation with Vucic on Tuesday, stressed the US support for the EU-sponsored dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and called for constructive engagement in ensuring peace and stability throughout the region.

Blinken also thanked President Vucic for Serbia's support to the territorial integrity of Ukraine, according to the State Department statement.

During the conversation, joint efforts to ensure Serbia's energy security in the future were also discussed.

Blinken also congratulated Serbia on the opening of the new embassy in Washington.

Vucic's media office announced on Tuesday that Vucic had a telephone conversation with Blinken on three key topics - the issue of Kosovo and Metohija and the desire of the US administration to reach a solution as soon as possible, Belgrade's relationship with Russia and the diversification of Serbia's energy sources.

The statement also said that US State Secretary Blinken informed President Vucic about the necessity of quickly reaching an agreement with Pristina, while President Vucic presented Serbia'e views.
