Defense Minister Milos Vucevic spoke this morning about what happened in the previous days in the area above Merdare and the surroundings of Raska, saying that the skies under the control of the Serbian Army will be absolutely protected. A number of drones have been spotted, there were different movements, but the MiG-29s weren't patrolling because of the drones - they were policing the sky.

The Army can respond to these challenges with helicopters, artillery, aircraft machine guns, said Vucevic. It's not just a question of drones entering the Raska District, the Army has spotted certain objects in the direction of movement through the Toplica and Nisava districts, Minister Vucevic told RTS. He said that that these were attempts to observe the positions of Army units and certain military barracks.

He added that the president of the Republic, as commander-in-chief, issued an executive order to eliminate every such object.

"We will protect the sky that is under the control of the Serbian Army - the sky that is covered by our systems, in accordance with UN Resolution 1244 and the Kumanovo Agreement - it will be safe for all citizens of Serbia," the minister said.

The army has the capacity and ability to respond to every task, Vucevic underlined.

"To clear up any confusion, our fighters, MiG-29s, did not patrol because of the drones, we have other procedures for dealing with such situations - they were carrying out regular police patrols, control of our sky, the Army can also use aircraft machine guns, helicopters, artillery, and other means to respond to these challenges," added the minister of defense.

"I can't say whose drones they are, they come from the territory of Kosovo and Metohija," said Vucevic.

"All this is unfolding in the context of monitoring and trying to monitor the activities of the Serbian Army in the territory under our control, the Army acts in accordance with the guidelines of the supreme commander," the minister noted.

"There are large exercises in progress, Manevri 22, I expect that tomorrow the president of the Republic will visit some of the units at Pasuljanske Poljane and see how the drills are going," said Vucevic.

He added that there were many incorrect headlines coming from Pristina about the Serbian Army concentrating troops on the administrative lines. "By making a big deal out of it, someone is trying to get some information through that spying," Vucevic pointed out.

"The army carries out its activities as planned and guards its weapons and tools," said Vucevic.

According to him, the Army is a key attribute of the state, it is an armed force, "not a society of stamp collectors," it is an armed force that defends the state.

The president of the Republic issued an order to increase the level of combat readiness, and the Army must be ready to carry out every order, Vucevic stressed. If a drone is spotted, it will be eliminated or put under our control, the minister of defense said.

The irresponsible behavior of the administration in Pristina, the abandoning of the concept of dialogue, insisting that the issue of license plates is a matter for their administration, menas that security can be threatened and Serbia must react, he added.

The message is that there will be no new versions of operations Storm and Flash (when Croatia targeted Serbs). These are not video games, better a thousand days at the negotiating table than one hour in the trenches, that does not mean we are afraid, he said.

"We call on Pristina and the Quint countries (US, France, Italy, Germany, UK) to get Pristina back to the negotiating table, so that the policy of unilateral decisions ends.

"Mig-29s are patrolling our skies, we have the right to control our skies. We don't raise MiG-29s because of drones," concluded Vucevic.
