Prime Minister Ana Brnabic addressed citizens from the Palace of Serbia today after the "Talents Together 5.0" conference.

"I will now personally talk to everyone, we will also ask partners from the EU to share their experiences with us. As soon as on January 16, I will have a big meeting with civil society organizations," said the prime minister, speaking about the withdrawal of the Draft Law on the Police.

As for the pension (PIO) fund, its funding comes primarily from contributions. "Today it is a serious institution. I don't know what you're talking about when you say that PIO's assets are being sold below market value," the prime minister answered a journalist's question.

"The same way they were convincing me that the IMT brand is worth 20 million euros. Do you think that is the market value," asked Brnabic.

"It was phenomenal before, the PIO was emptied, we didn't sell anything," she concluded ironically.

Brnabic also stated that she is in touch with relevant ministers who visited Pirot after the accident with the ammonia leak.

She reflected on the three main challenges in 2023.

"The economic situation in Europe will be even more difficult. Our economy is directly linked to the economy of EU member states, especially Germany. Then, energy. It's certain that the next winter will be even more difficult than this one. We are already preparing and will have another thermal power plant. We are also preparing for additional capacities from renewable energy sources. The third challenge is stability in these areas. I hope that a way will be found for Pristina to start respecting all international agreements and the basic human rights of Serbs in Kosovo," said Brnabic.

Albin Kurti's ambition is to provoke armed conflicts, she stressed, but it is unacceptable to threaten to forcibly remove the barricades.

"There are children and elderly people there," she recalled.

Referring to the population data, the prime minister said that less qualified workforce is leaving Serbia in search of better paying jobs.

"I hope that this will change with the continuous growth of salaries in Serbia," said the prime minister.
