Serbia's best tennis player, Novak Djokovic, is currently in London, where he is preparing to defend the trophy he won last year at Wimbledon.

The Serbian star athlete is more than ready to rewrite the history of tennis, but wherever he is, he is not forgetting who he is and stands firmly on the ground.

Thus, on one of the biggest Serbian holidays, Vidovdan (St. Vitus Day), he posted on social networks and congratulated all Serbs on this important day.

Namely, Novak posted a photo depicting the famous "Kosovo Girl,"  a painting by Uros Predic, which symbolizes one of the greatest battles and sufferings in the history of the Serb people - the Battle of Kosovo of 1389 (fought in an attempt to defend the Serbian medieval state from invading Ottoman Turks).

Serbian Prince Lazar is also in the painting, as well as the coat of arms of Serbia. Novak also added the well-known lyrics from the popular song "Vidovdan."

"I'm looking at the sky, centuries pass," Novak Djokovic's post reads.
