Whole world is in shock: Compare how German and Serbian teams were welcomed after Basketball World Cup

Another Basketball World Cup is over, and the Serbian basketballers returned home with a silver medal.

Our basketball players were defeated by Germany in the final, and the reception that the fans prepared for the two teams in their respective countries was at the center of attention.

It was the welcome received by the new world champions, the Germans, that caused stormy reactions and quite shocked the whole world. The reason for that is a rather "small" event, given that it was a celebration of the Basketball World Cup gold.

The event was organized in Frankfurt, in front of the headquarters of one of the main sponsors of the German national team, and it was there that a small stage was set up, on which the basketball players appeared.

However, what made the main impression was the "small" number of fans who came to greet the world champions. "Only" a few hundred, possibly around a thousand gathered at the location, making it all look like it was a celebration of a success of a lower leagues club.

This has caused many comments, and there were many who compared it to the reception the Serbian athletes received in front of the Belgrade City Assembly.

On Tuesday evening, a true spectacle was seen in central Belgrade. Thousands of people gathered to greet the vice-champions of the world who appeared on the balcony of the City Assembly, and all this was accompanied by flares, singing, chanting, flags, and songs by the Serbian band Beogradski Sindikat.

Photos and videos of the spectacle went around the entire planet, and many jokingly wondered what would have happened had the Serbian squad won the gold medal.
