Train collides with car at level crossing in Pancevo: Tragedy narrowly avoided

This morning at around 7 o'clock a traffic accident occurred on the railroad crossing on the Kudeljar embankment in Pancevo. Namely, a train hit a car whose engine was torn off during impact, and the material damage is great.

Fortunately, the accident did not turn into a tragedy and eyewitnesses claim that nobody was injured.

This level crossing does not have a barrier, and it is one of the busier ones, so this has not been the first time that a train has hit a vehicle, the Instagram page "zdravancevo" posted.

They also said that ten years ago a locomotive hit a van at the same spot.

"The bushes on both sides of the railway block the drivers' view, so unfortunately it was only a matter of time before such an accident would happen again. In previous years, citizens wrote petitions and asked for a barrier to be installed at this railway crossing, but to no avail," the account said.
