President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today during his speech broadcast from the Palace of Serbia that he will request a special session of the UN Security Council.

"We know that this is not the end and on Monday our representative will submit a request for an emergency session of the UN," said President Vucic.

The president pointed out that Serbia will not give up on international law.

"In accordance with the UN Charter and Rules of Procedure, on Monday, Serbia will submit a request to hold an emergency session of the UNSC regarding Pristina's escalating moves. I hope that the majority will vote in favor and that the session will take place, and we will not abandon international legal norms," said President Vucic.

The president also said that on Monday, all representatives of EU member countries and EU institutions and presidents and prime ministers of the UN Security Council member countries, including Russia and China, will receive a letter that he will sign, in which he will point out the acts of violation of international legal norms and escalating moves by Pristina. and what Serbia demands from the international community.

Situation in Kosovo and Metohija not at all easy

The president also said that the situation in Kosovo and Metohija is not easy, that things are complicated, but that Belgrade is talking and will talk with international partners, and expressed his belief that today everyone understands how right Serbia was when it said that only one side wanted to causes chaos, to provoke and escalate the situation in Kosovo and Metohija.

"I think there is a huge amount of mistrust towards Pristina and its moves. I think that today everyone understands how right we were when we said that only one side wants to cause chaos, to provoke, to escalate the situation in the southern Serbian province," Vucic said in his address to the nation from the Palace of Serbia.

The president said this after assessing that the situation in Kosovo and Metohija is not easy, when he stressed that the state of Serbia will find methods and ways to enable payments for the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija.

"I just want to tell the people that things are very complicated. At the same time, what is of crucial importance for us is that we will work with international partners. We have already had conversations. We will continue to work," said Vucic, who was talking about Pristina's decision to abolish the Serbian dinar, but also several synchronized actions by Kurti's police, who raided temporary (Serb) authorities in Pristina, Pec, Gorazdevac and Istok and carried out incursions in all Serb enclaves in the area of Metohija.
