President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today started his announced visit to Moscow, where he is to meet with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and attend the Victory Day parade.

Bu the plane he was flying on had to make an emergency landing in Azerbaijan due to the war in Ukraine and combat operations in the airspace!

The path to Moscow is closed for this reason, writes Informer.

The plane could not proceed toward Russia due to security risks - including the activity of air defense systems and the possibility of interception in the conflict zone!

In view of the increasing tension and military operations currently taking place in Eastern Europe, the flight to Moscow was declared unsafe and the presidential delegation was stopped in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

Tanjug is reporting that approval for the flight to proceed is now being awaited, as well as that Moscow airports are currently closed.
