Vucevic: Attack on SNS premises is act of madness, blockade of court in Novi Sad is attack on state

Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) leader Milos Vucevic says that attacks on the party premises and activists in Novi Sad are an act of insanity, while regarding the continuation of the blockade of the court in that city, he assessed that as the most blatant form of attack on Serbian institutions and the state.
Commenting on yesterday's attacks on SNS activists and party premises, Vucevic explained that four female activists were at the counter in front, and that the "blockaders" started attacking them, calling them out on social networks and calling for lynching and violence.
"Our members did not allow the girls to be lynched and the defense of the party premises began. It's unbelievable that someone thought of attacking our party premises and defending that as the democratic way. It's naked violence and who gave them the right to determine who is allowed to be active in the political life of Serbia? Now the street thugs and blockaders, will be the political court? Do you know what that means? The end of democracy. That's 1945. If they think you belong to a party they don't like, they will liquidate you. I am deeply grateful to our girls and boys who defended the party," Vucevic told TV Pink.
He added that the blockade lasted for more than 12 hours, stressing that the people defending the premises made a decision not to retreat and were ready to stay there as long as necessary.
"Enough already with this terror and madness. I was in the SRS, and in the SNS since its foundation, no one has ever attacked another's premises. Neither the SPS, nor the former Democratic Party, nor the SRS did that. For me, this is an act of insanity and absolutely reprehensible," Vucevic said.
His message to those organizing and participating in blockades is that they will never win using violence and that they will be resisted in a peaceful and democratic manner, with party premises and colleagues protected.
"What they did yesterday around the party premises and what they have been doing for days both in Nis and in Novi Sad is unprecedented and has nothing to do with democracy. People are sick of it, I hope that the state institutions will do their job and this violence that is being carried out entails criminal legal responsibility. Someone will have to answer for that. These are not acts under the statute of limitations," Vucevic said.
When it comes to the continued blockade of the court in Novi Sad, Vucevic assessed that it is the most blatant form of attack on Serbian institutions and the state.
"The best proof is that the blockaders tell you about their aspirations and demands that the institutions should be doing their job, then carry out activities contrary to that. They say, the institutions should do their work, and then they do the opposite on the ground, destroying the institutions. When one of them is prosecuted, then what they do is stop people who were supposed to exercise their right before the court," said Vucevic.
He stressed that by blocking the court, a direct and worst kind of pressure is exerted on the judiciary to set free people who are undergoing criminal-legal processes, and that leads to the canceling of the state.
"Then the street will determine whether someone is in favor of an indictment or not. Those terrorists who planned (to start) civil war in Serbia on March 15 in Belgrade, when their status is to be decided on, the court gets blocked in order to put pressure on prosecutors and judges to release them. When someone who resisted the blockaders is in custody, then they put pressure not to release those. I don't know that anyone has ever blocked the work of a court except for them," Vucevic said of the protestors.
