The constitutive session of the assembly of the provisional Pristina institutions was interrupted today for the 20th time, as the Self-Determination party's proposal to make the vote for the president of the assembly secret was yet again rejected.

The Democratic Alliance of Kosovo, the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Serb List chose not to provide members for the secret ballot committee.

53 out of the 111 deputies present voted in favor of forming this committee.

The continuation of the session is now scheduled for May 25.

During the previous ten times the interrupted session would resume, Self-Determination tried to have the president of the assembly elected in a secret vote, but that was not accepted.

The Self-Determination candidate remains Albulena Haxhiu, although the previous six attempts to elect her did not succeed, as she never received more than 57 out of the minimum 61 votes required.

The constitutive session began on April 15, and based on the results of the elections held on February 9, no party can independently form a government.

Self-Determination has 48 seats, the Democratic Party of Kosovo 24, the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo 20, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Nisma initiative eight, the Serb List nine, the Party for Freedom, Justice and Survival one, while the remaining 10 seats are distributed among representatives of other non-majority communities.
