Milos Vucevic, who was until recently Serbia's prime minister, and is the leader of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), has been appointed as an adviser to the president of the Republic.

In this role, Vucevic will deal with regional issues.

It was announced in the Official Gazette that Vucevic was appointed to that position on May 27.

On January 28, Vucevic submitted his irrevocable resignation as prime minister, after an attack on students organizing blockades in Novi Sad.

Vucevic's resignation was confirmed in the Serbian National Assembly on March 19.
