Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic today extended congratulations to Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the occasion of June 13, the Russia Day holiday.

We carry the message published by Vucic in full:

"Your Excellency, Mr. President,

On behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on the national holiday - Russia Day, confident that the friendly relations between our two countries, as well as our comprehensive cooperation, will continue to develop successfully for the sake of mutual interests and to mutual benefit. I believe that our recent meeting in Moscow, through an open and meaningful conversation, made a significant contribution to that.

I use this opportunity to once again express my gratitude to the Russian Federation and to you personally, Mr. President, for your principled support toward preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, as a matter of vital importance for our state and national interests. Please accept, Your Excellency, the expressions of my particular esteem."

June 12 is celebrated as Russia Day. On this occasion, many officials from around the world sent messages to President Vladimir Putin, the country's authorities, and its people.
