Serbia to participate in "Russian Eurovision" this year, along with these countries
Russia, which has been banned from Eurovision since 2022 because of the war in Ukraine, has decided to organize its own music competition.
It has been announced that Serbia will participate, along with a number of other countries.
President Vladimir Putin signed a decree regarding the Russian competition, which is called Intervision, Politico reports.
In addition to the hosts and Belarus, Serbia, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Venezuela, Cuba, Vietnam, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, Colombia, the US, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are also competing.
Russia has organized Intervision before, between 1965 and 1968, and 1977 and 1980.
Russia participated in Eurovision from 1994 to 2021, and won in 2001, when Serbia hosted that competition.
