Serbian Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic met today, at the beginning of his official visit to Egypt, with his counterpart Mahmoud Tawfik.

Dacic and Tawfik discussed the possibilities for further improvement of bilateral cooperation in the field of internal affairs, especially in fighting all types of crime, terrorism and illegal migration.

Minister Dacic also pointed out the importance of cooperation between the two ministries and within international organizations, such as Interpol and the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO).

The ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Interior of the Arab Republic of Egypt that covers cooperation in the fight against crime, which represents an additional incentive for establishing cooperation in combating serious forms of crime and terrorism.

Dacic thanked for Egypt's helping Serbia during the recent evacuation of our citizens from Israel. He invited Minister Tawfik to visit Serbia in the coming period.
