President Vucic and Patriarch Porfirije visit St. Sava Temple in Belgrade with a very important guest

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic today shared on his Instagram account that he met with Russian artist Nikolai Mukhin, who headed a team that created the decorations adorning the inside of the dome of the St. Sava Temple in Belgrade.
Mukhin is a member of the Russian Academy of Arts and a People's Artist of Russia, and this is how the Serbian president captioned the photos he published online:
"I am honored to be in the Temple of Saint Sava, a magnificent testimony to our faith, history and culture, together with His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije, where I met with the distinguished Russian artist Nikolai Mukhin, the author of the imposing mosaics that adorn the interior of this Serbian holy place.
We spoke about the complex and dedicated work he invested in creating the monumental frescoes and mosaics, but also about the deep symbolism and spiritual power that his work relays to future generations. Mr. Mukhin's work represents not only an artistic feat, but also a bridge that connects our peoples, through our common Orthodox tradition and sincere friendship.
This was an opportunity to express my gratitude for everything he has done to make the St. Sava Temple one of the most beautiful and authentic Orthodox churches in the world. His vision and creative dedication has left an indelible mark on the cultural heritage of Serbia.
We also agreed on Mukhin's further involvement in the creation of mosaics in the corridors of St. Sava's Temple. I am convinced that we will continue to nurture our shared values, contributing to the richness of the spiritual and artistic identity of our country."
