Ambassador of Israel: Partnership between US-Israel-Serbia is natural

Israeli Ambassador to Serbia Avivit Bar-Ilan said today that the trilateral partnership between Serbia, Israel and the United States is natural because, according to her, the three countries share common values and have common interests.

"We have a common history and destiny and that brings us closer together. And this partnership happens without formalization," the ambassador said in the Serbian National Assembly today, during the conference "Belgrade Strategic Dialogue - Partnership between Serbia, Israel and the US" - organized by the Congress of Serbian-American Friendship.

She added that the US is a strong partner of both Serbia and Israel, adding that the alliance with Israel came to the fore three weeks ago when they "fought against the axis of evil in eliminating the threat of nuclear weapons originating from Iran."

"President Donald Trump's decision to join Israel in these efforts is not only in the interest of the defense of the United States, it was an expression of friendship and alliance, and we greatly appreciate that," said the ambassador.

She added that she wants the partnership between Serbia and Israel to continue and deepen in fields of innovation, science and technology.

"We want to conduct consultations and have parliamentary exchanges like we had last week in Jerusalem," said Israel's ambassador to Serbia.
