Another strong heatwave hits Serbia: Red weather warning in force in entire country, high UV indexes

The Republic Hydrometeorological Institute (RHMZ) announced that today red weather warning for extremely high temperatures is in effect throughout Serbia.
The red weather warning indicates that the weather is very dangerous and of such intensity that it can cause great material damage and jeopardize the safety of people and animals.
RHMZ announced that it is necessary to stay informed about the details of the expected meteorological conditions and risks, as well as that it is necessary to follow the instructions and advice coming from competent state services.

Also, UV indexes in the territory of Serbia today are very high, the highest in Sjenica (10); it is 8 in Belgrade and ranging from 8 to 9 in the rest of the country.
Earlier today, the RHMZ issued a warning about a new heatwave this week, which will be most pronounced in the south and east of Serbia, where maximum temperatures of 35 to 40 degrees Celsius are expected by Saturday, July 26, and up to 42 degrees on Friday, with an increased southwest wind.

Today will be the hottest day in the north and west of Serbia, while the temperature will drop slightly on Tuesday and Wednesday, ranging from 30 to 36 degrees, and will rise again starting on Thursday - from 35 to 38 degrees.
In the area of Belgrade, the hottest days after today will be Thursday and Friday with the highs between 35 to 39 degrees.
During the rest of that heatwave period, the forecast values are between 32 to 35 degrees.
