Petkovic: 50th attempt to constitute Pristina Assembly has failed, Albin Kurti cannot construct majority

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic has assessed that the failure of Pristina's attempt to constitute the Assembly the 50th time today, shows that Albin Kurti is unable to construct a parliamentary majority, much less to form a government.

"That's what makes him seriously nervous and why he is trying, among other things, to use illegal and deeply escalating moves to mask the institutional crisis in Kosovo and Metohija, i.e. in Pristina, that has been lasting for several months, so much so that nobody remembers that elections were held on February 9," Petkovic told Tanjug.

That says everything, he added, about the condition they are in, but that's why they don't mind making unlawful moves.

"They are arresting representatives of the state. Igor Popovic (assistant director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija) is an excellent lawyer who has held various positions in the Office for more than 20 years, and someone who is well versed in the suffering of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija. What can you say about someone who is present non-stop on the ground, especially with the families of the victims and those who get arrested illegally and for political reasons," said Petkovic.

According to him, the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are deeply aware of what Albin Kurti is doing and what his true intentions are.

"He is doing everything to expel the Serb people from Kosovo and Metohija. It is no wonder that on the other hand, Albin Kurti most directly supports the 'blockaders' in Belgrade, because he probably expects that they will overthrow the government in Belgrade by force, so that those who would come to power would immediately recognize so-called Kosovo as independent. That will never happen," concluded Petkovic.
