After the opening half hour of the game on Thursday afternoon, Partizan's footballers were up 1-0 against Ukrainian Oleksandriya, with Bogdan Kostic scoring the first goal.

The game, played in Poland, was part of the second round of qualification for the Conference League and ended with the Serbian club's 2-0 victory.

At the start, as expected, Oleksandriya players came onto the pitch carrying the symbols of their country, as did the Dynamo Kiev players the previous season.

This was supposed to be a form of protest against Partizan for taking part in a friendly tournament in Moscow.

But that was not all, because a huge scandal occurred during the game, when chants of "Kill the Serb" could be heard from the stands.

The commentator for the Serbian broadcaster RTS immediately suggested that there could be "a big fine" because of the behavior of the fans of the Ukrainian club, that finished second in the league last season.

Partizan will again play against Oleksandriya in the return leg next week in Belgrade.
