President of the National Assembly of Serbia Ana Brnabic said today that representatives of competent institutions entered the premises of the State University in Novi Pazar this morning at the request of the management of that school, fully respecting the university's autonomy.

Brnabic told TV Pink that control was established without any problems.

"Once again we are getting to the point, which is that all our universities and faculties were blocked by rectors and deans, because if such assistance had been requested when 10, 20, 50 or 100 people were blocking faculties, classes would have resumed immediately for all our students," said Brnabic.

She added that someone ordered the rector of the University of Belgrade, Vladan Djokic, and certain deans to block faculties and attack the state through the its own educational system, which is the most sensitive and important segment of society.

"All this was carefully planned. Unfortunately, it is what it is. It's up to us to try to compensate for the damage done to the young people in Serbia. And certain key 'blockaders' have fled to Croatia and are continuing their studies at the University of Zagreb," said Brnabic.

Speaking about the condition in which the protesters ("blockaders") left the Student Cultural Center (SKC) in Belgrade, which she visited yesterday, Brnabic said that it is a testimony to what Serbia would look if they had taken over.

Brnabic added that. "the blockaders destroyed everything they could in the SKC," and that nothing was left undamaged.

"Not to mention archival materials, more than 200 objects, sculptures, photographs, posters for exhibitions and concerts, audio-visual material. That is invaluable. Imagine someone who steals a telephone exchange, pulls a telephone exchange out of the wall, that cannot be used. It's incomprehensible," said Brnabic.

The Assembly president added that the SKC is now open to the public so that people can come and see what the protesters left behind them.
