Vucic announces changes concerning state institutions: We will change our tactics and behavior

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today that changes are being prepared regarding state bodies and that the state will change its tactics in the way it behaves.
"We will start taking certain measures in a different way. Some will be visible, others less so at first, but the results will be obvious. We are preparing that. You will see a change in the tactics in the behavior regarding various matters concerning state authorities," Vucic said during a tour of the premises of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in the Belgrade municipallity of Palilula, which were demolished during a protest on Monday.
The president added that there are hundreds of prosecutors and judges who have refused to prosecute students who participate in blockades and protests, because they are waiting to come out of the situation as the winners.
"They are waiting to win. One has the right to gamble, one has the right to a political assessment, I just don't know how they intend to justify unlawful activities, in order to curry favor with those who are behaving unlawfully, to make that seem okay. Maybe they've placed the wrong bet, so we'll see," Vucic said.
He stressed that the people have been rightfully dissatisfied with the state of the justice system in Serbia.
"They wanted to abuse both rights and justice, that's why they never prosecuted those who pillaged this country, and that's why people blamed me, although them (the judiciary) doing their job is not my responsibility, and now they're trying to pull off the worst possible abuse of both the law and justice. As we've said, we're going to start taking certain measures in a different way," said Vucic.
The president continued to note that the time of mindlessness, when nothing rational, is passing.
"You know, that part of irrational consciousness when it gets a hold on someone, that doesn't last forever, it's always short-lived. I'll remind you how things were around October 5 (2000), for six months you couldn't say a different opinion anywhere, and then six months after that, things were already becoming different. Two, three years down the line, and everyone was hating them (the new authorities that took over after October 5), it was just a matter of technique, when it would be over," said Vucic.
