Drunk driver kills mother of 2 as she was pushing a stroller, then flees the scene; Police reveal new details

The police in Bogatic have arrested a 32-year-old suspected drunk driver, N.D., for committing serious crimes against public traffic safety and failure to provide assistance to a person injured in a traffic accident.

N.D. is suspected of hitting a 32-year-old woman who was pushing a stroller with a 3-year-old child in it with his car. The suspect is believed to have been driving under the influence of alcohol when the accident happened yesterday, and of fleeing the scene in its aftermath.

The woman died instantly, while the toddler in the stroller was not injured.

The police soon found and breathalyzed N.D., and it was determined that his blood alcohol content was 1.43 permilles.

By order of the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in the nearby town of Sabac, the suspect is now detained for up to 48 hours by the police, and will then be brought before the prosecutor along with a criminal complaint.

The victim, Milena J., left behind two sons.
