10 masked and armed fans stab brothers in Belgrade; Celtic fan ends up in hospital with head injuries

Brothers Mihailo M. (22) and Nikola M. (22) are in the Emergency Center in Belgrade in a stable condition after they were battered and stabbed in the Karaburma neighborhood, Telegraf.rs has learned.

The initial information from the investigation says that they were attacked by Partizan fans - cross-town rivals of Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) in Belgrade.

As we learned, Mihailo and Nikola were attacked last night around 11:00 in Milice Jankovic Street in Karaburma.

According to unofficial information, the brothers were in a car when they were surrounded, attacked and stabbed by 10 thugs.

According to what we have learned, the vehicle has also been damaged.

"Mihailo was stabbed in the back and was admitted to the intensive care unit, and Nikola in the leg. Their condition is stable. When they are able to, they will ne interviewed by inspectors will about the motive behind the attack," said our source.

The investigation is being conducted by the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade.

The police are looking for the attakers, most likely supporters of Partizan.

Scot assaulted

Z.M. (34), a fan of Celtic from Glasgow, Scotland -(who was in Belgrade for this evening's Europa League match against Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) - was rushed to the Emergency Center last night because of an injury he sustained in a fight that broke out in the central part of the Serbian capital!

According to unofficial information obtained by Telegraf, the fan from Scotland has head injuries.

A larger group of hooligans attacked a group of foreign fans wearing Celtic shirts sitting in several cafes in Zmaj Jovina Street in the very center of the city.

Witnesses state that the conflict was preceded by a short argument and that after only a few seconds, the situation turned into a free-for-all.

The attackers fled before the arrival of the police, while the footage and photos from the scene of the clash show shards of glass on the floor and overturned tables.

A large number of police officers intervened and it is not yet known whether anyone has been arrested.
