Mayor of Novi Sad Zarko Micin met today with a delegation of the Chinese city of Hefei, with whom he discussed the possibilities and modalities of economic, educational, cultural, sports and tourism cooperation.

It was pointed out during the meeting in the City Hall that it is an important move towards strengthening the partnership and building closer ties between Novi Sad and Hefei, the mayor's office announced.

It was agreed that in the coming period, concrete steps will be implemented within the framework of the cooperation that has been launched - a letter of intent was signed in May, during Micin's participation in the Mayors Forum held in Ningbo.

Members of the Chinese delegation introduced Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province, known for its scientific and technological innovation, strong industrial base and stimulating business environment.

They pointed out that Hefei, like Novi Sad, is the hub for new technologies, science and modern industry, and that it represents a strong economic and tourist center.

The Chinese delegation included the vice president of the Hefei Communist Council,and the secretary-general of the Hefei municipal governmen, Luo Ping, as well as representatives of the Hefei Municipal Trade Bureau, and the Hefei People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

The meeting was also attended by Dragan Marinkovic, member of the Novi Sad City Council for Finance, Mirjana Markovic, member of the City Council for Urban Planning, Housing Affairs, Property and Investments, Tatjana Medved, member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, Mayor's Assistant Aleksandar Petrovic and Mayor's Advisor Sinisa Stojsin.
