The former Minister of Internal Affairs of Slovenia, Ales Hojs, is suspected of cooperating with the Kavac Clan (Kavacki Klan), a Montenegrin organized criminal group.

The Sovenian police searched his house today by order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office.

Hojs is a member of the Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS), whose leader is former Prime Minister Janez Jansa. He served as cabintet minister from 2020 to 2022.

Hojs has now stated that he is suspected of links with the Kavac Clan, but that he did not know what this is based on.

"That in 2021 I received information from an unknown perpetrator at a police station about when the house belonging to members of the Kavac Clan would be searched and that I informed them about it," Hojs told the press in Slovenia.

Asked if he had actually done that, the former interior minister replied, "I mean, the question is really stupid."

The search of Hojs' house has been going on since this morning. Police officers sent by the Special State Prosecution are at the scene. While the garage was searched, Hojs went out and spoke to reporters.

He also posted on social networks.

"6.06 am... Police on my doorstep... House is being searched... Elections are approaching," Hojs wrote on X.
