SNS leader Milos Vucevic pleads with Serbian Assembly Deputy Ugljesa Mrdic to end his hunger strike
This morning, the leader of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, SNS, Milos Vucevic, visted Ugljesa Mrdic who has been on a hunger strike for five days in front of the Serbian National Assembly in Belgrade.
Vucevic asked Mrdic, who is a member of the Assembly from the ranks of the SNS, to end the hunger strike.
"It is not a political act, but a human cry for justice. We spoke, and I asked the veterans who are with him and himself to end the hunger strike. We will never give up the fight for truth and justice. We will see it through. It will be known who was responsible and for what, regarding the collapse of the (railway station) canopy in Novi Sad, a tragedy that claimed 16 lives," Vucevic stated.
He added that all those culpable in this case will be held accountable.
"Just as all those who committed act violence throughout Serbia in the past 12 months (anti-government protestors) must answer for that. But this is neither my nor Ugljesa's job, that is for the institutions to do. It's important to preserve health, sanity and faith in justice," concluded Vucevic.
Last night, President Aleksandar Vucic also asked Ugljesa Mrdic and the veterans, as well as Dijana Hrka, who are in front of the Serbian National Assembly, to end their hunger strike.
