Djedovic reveals what SPECIAL OPERATION is: Here's what happens after US demands that Russians exit NIS

Serbian Minister of Energy Dubravka Djedovic told TV Pink, regarding the situation around NIS (Petroleum Industry of Serbia), that current events are not only an economic issue, but part of a much broader geopolitical picture.

"This is a fight between the US and Russia, and we found ourselves in the middle. Those who advocate nationalization (of NIS) are actually those who are selling out Serbia and want us to quarrel with the Russians. That is not the policy that we lead," said Djedovic.

According to her, the key goal of the state is for investors in Serbia to feel security and stability.

"We have a long-term arrangement with the Russian Federation and we want all investors to feel safe here," she added.

When asked what the special operation entails, Djedovic explained that it is a process that should give Russia time to decide with whom it wants to discuss a change of ownership in NIS.

"The bottom line is that we give the Russians the space to choose an interlocutor for negotiations regarding the change of ownership, and that we support that process. After that, we would turn to the United States, because any change in the ownership structure must also receive US approval," the Serbian minister said.

She added that there is a deadline of three months for the entire procedure, but also that it is clear that "everyone is looking out for their own interests."

"We must do the same. The most important thing is that fuel is available to all citizens. It's difficult, but we have been under sanctions for a long time, the citizens did not feel anything because we were ready. Our hospitals depend on fuel, the food processing, the economy, and we are responsible for our citizens. We have to be decisive. We know our job, which is to have enough fuel at gas stations, and that companies are functioning well, and I expect that we will have a solution by the end of the week," said Djedovic.
