Vucic's message on Serb Republic Day: Serbia is always with you, our ties are unbreakable, strong and eternal

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today sent his congratulatory message on the occasion of the Day of the Serb Republic (RS, Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina) and pointed out that the RS was created for peace and therefore remains one of the key pillars in preserving stability in the region, adding that Serbia will always stand with the RS and its people.

"I congratulate all RS citizens on the 34 years of its existence and struggle to preserve the Serb name, religion, tradition, customs and identity," Vucic stated in a post on Instagram.

He pointed out that the RS was "born in fire, built in difficult times, challenged and denied, but always proud, unbreakable and dignified" - and that it was created for peace, and therefore remains one of the key pillars in preserving stability in the region.

"This is also the day when we celebrate unity that has bound us throughout history, the culture and values we share. Our ties are unbreakable, strong and eternal, just like the Serb people, wherever they live," stated Vucic.

He added that today we once again send a message of peace and sincere commitment to cooperation, development and respect for diversity, a message that unity is the throughline that strengthens us in order to realize the vision of the future that holds room for everyone.

The president stressed that the Serbia will always be there for the the RS and its people because we all, more than ever, need consistency in advocating for peace, wisdom that guides us on the right path, responsibility in making decisions and a serious approach in the face of challenges.

"That is precisely the vow to the future generations who will continue to build the RS and Serbia. Long live the Serb Republic! Long live the Republic of Serbia!," Vucic's message concluded.

RS Day is celebrated on January 9, marking of that day in 1992 when the RS (Serbian: Republika Srpska) was created under its original name, the Republic of the Serb People in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Republika srpskog naroda u BiH).
