Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric and Permanent Coordinator of the UN in Serbia Matilde Mort today signed the new Development Partnership Framework for Sustainable Development between the Government of Serbia and the UN for the period 2026-2030.

The ministry announced that this is a document that defines shared priorities of cooperation between Serbia and the UN in the areas of economic development, social protection, environmental protection and strengthening of institutions.

The head of Serbian diplomacy said that the new framework represents the strongest possible confirmation of Serbia's commitment to multilateralism, as well as the role and character of the United Nations, an organization on which the international order has rested for decades.

Djuric stressed that Serbia remains a strong and consistent supporter of the UN system, and that this system exists to ensure the equality of states and prevent international relations from being guided by the logic of force instead of the force of justice.

"For Serbia, the UN is the guarantor of preserving our sovereignty and territorial integrity in the area of Kosovo and Metohija, and that is why this cooperation is of particular importance," said Djuric.

According to the minister, the cooperation framework signed today is an expression of a shared commitment to principles and a mechanism by which Serbia's national development priorities connect with global goals for the sake of development.
