President Vucic speaks about elections

President Aleksadar Vucic said today that the citizens of Serbia want serious people to lead the changes and that the one who understands what the people want wins elections.

When asked to comment on German journalist Michael Martens saying that, "if Orban loses, Vucic cannot win", and on the conclusion (of the Pink TV interviewer) that the attacks on him are even more brutal the greater the geopolitical upheaval, Vucic told Pink TV that he would like Martens to be more on the side of Serbia.

He added that he has heard a lot about who will win and who will lose elections.

"Elections are lost by the one who fails to understand the needs of the people. And the one who understands what the people want, the one who is able to change, wins election. When people say 'we want changes', people are not saying, 'I want Kokanovic as minister', who is in fifth or seventh place on the so-called student list," said Vucic.

Asked about Zlatko Kokanovic complaining about the state's stance towards protesting farmers, he said that Kokanovic was driving the wrong way and could have killed dozens of families.

"He could have killed children. He could have done all kinds of crazy and stupid things and yet he's complaining about someone else, but let people know that. That is the future they offer. The future they offer is Kokanovic and Bakic and Kavcic. That is the future they offer. Are these the changes that people fought for? Are these the changes that the children here fought for? I wouldn't say anyone is happy about that. Kokanovic, let him be your minister, let Kokanovic make decisions about anything. These are not changes that people want," Vucic said.

He added that they want serious people to do that.

"Who change themselves and everything around them for the sake of the quality of life of the citizens. And we must dedicate ourselves to that. These are things that we have to do. These are the big things that we have to do going forward," said Vucic.

The president stated that tomorrow he will present the 2030-2035 plan, so that people can become familiar with the plan and what his idea is.

"For people to see how much money we will provide. But it's hard to predict, when you see what's happening in the world. Because nothing misses us. No matter what's happening, it never misses us. Because we don't have oil and gas (deposits), we don't have any of that. And what we do have, those 'experts' didn't allow us to make use of. I'm talking about lithium, I'm also talking about some other things. Because they think they're very smart, because they think it's easy to live, because they think it's great like this, 'but let's destroy our country in order to grab power'? Of all the great fighters for human rights, forpeople's rights, now you see that they are the merely armchair warriors," added Vucic.
