President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today that there is a sufficient amount of diesel and gasoline reserves to cover 90 days, as well as kerosene reserves for 35 days, and added that last night he called Prime Minister Djuro Macut to ask for the Government of Serbia to make an urgent decision to ban the export of petroleum products.

"Last night at 11:20 pm I called the prime minister and asked him to make a decision today to ban exports. I didn't watch the news from the region all day and then when I saw that there were shortages at some gas stations and that they were moving from Austria to Slovenia to Montenegro, I don't think it's anything terrible, nevertheless something is happening, I just said to ban the export of oil and oil derivatives," Vucic said in Crvenka, during a tour of the new Sigma factory.

"We have morereserves, I calculated what is in our warehouses, these are our strategic and long-term reserves of oil and oil derivatives. We also have what the refinery receives through JANAF, and we also have what is already in the refinery," said Vucic.

According to him, Serbia has safe reserves of both diesel and gasoline for 90 day period.

"That's what people are usually most interested in. We have a little less, for about 35 days, of kerosene, but that's not counting military reserves. We have significant aviation fuel reserves with the Army and we have another 25 million tons of diesel in the Army that we don't count in at all," said Vucic.

According to him, the goal is for the military reserves to never be touched and to always be ready.

"We seek to preserve stability and especially price stability. We as the state we were making the most money from oil, because we made sure that bread was the cheapest in Europe, we made sure that other products were the cheapest so that electricity would not be too expensive, although it is not that cheap, but it is not expensive compared to other countries, and we made money from oil, and now it happens that in 15 days everyone will have the price of diesel and gasoline the same or higher than us, and those were always lower. But, we are also helping the citizens of Serbia in this way," Vucic said of the ban.
