Dramatic change of weather! High-altitude cyclone brings rain and snow to these parts of Serbia
Spring-like weather continues in Serbia with temperatures rising up to 20 degrees Celsius, but a significant change is coming soon.
The morning today was clear and chilly, with frost in most areas.
The wind will be weak today.
During Tuesday and Wednesday the weather in Serbia will be affected by a strong high-altitude cyclone, which will move over our area further towards the southern part of the Adriatic.
On Tuesday, a significant change is coming. Clouds with rain, showers and thunderstorms are expected.
The northwesterly wind will pick up speed, and will turn into southeasterly towards the evening.
Heavy rainfall is expected during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.
The heaviest precipitation is expected in the central, western and southwestern parts of Serbia, as in these areas more than 30 millimeters per square meter of rain is forecast.
The highs will range from 10 to 15 degrees, in Belgrade up to 12 degrees.
Therefore, the temperature is expected to drop by about 10 degrees.
Snow will start falling on the mountains.
The snow line will drop to 800-900 meters above sea level in the west and southwest of Serbia.
Up to 10 centimeters of snow is expected to fall in these areas, up to 20 centimeters at higher altitudes.
It will be rainy and cold on Wednesday, with snow on the mountains, so the precipitation will move to the south and west, and stop in the north.
Starting on Wednesday, stormy easterly and southeasterly winds will blow in the south of Banat, with gusts of up to 100 km/h.
Maximum temperatures will be between 10 to 15 degrees from Thursday - the average temperatures for mid-March, and it will be mostly dry.
