Dacic: March Pogrom was organized and planned with clear goal - to ethnically cleanse Serbs from Kosovo
Tuesday marked 22 years since the start of the pogrom against Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija in March 2004, and Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic was one of the officials who made statements on this occasion.
"Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the March Pogrom against the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, one of the most painful crimes against the Serb people in recent history.
In just three days, Serb houses, churches and monasteries were burned, Serbian holy places were destroyed, and thousands of Serbs were expelled from their centuries-old homes.
It was an organized and premeditated pogrom, motivated by Albanian separatism, with a clear goal - to ethnically cleanse Serbs from the southern Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija.
Even today, more than two decades later, there is no justice for the Serb victims, and the international community continues to turn a blind eye to the fate of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.
Serbia will not be silent. Serbia will not forget. Serbia will not agree to the rewriting of history, the humiliation of the victims and attempts to erase every trace of the centuries-old existence of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija," stated Dacic.
