Vucic: Serbia will remain militarily neutral, we will not attack anyone, but will be able to defend ourselves
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said over the weekend during a rally held by the ruling SNS party in the Belgrade Arena venue that Serbia will remain militarily neutral, and will not attack anyone - but that it must be strong enough to deter potential aggression against itself.
"It is our choice to be a free, sovereign country, not to be a part of any military alliance, to protect our own skies and our own land, and as such, we must be strong enough to deter any potential aggression against our country," said Vucic.
He stressed that Serbia is not part of any military alliance, and that it is yet to become evident in two or three years what it is like for those who are in military alliances like NATO.
The president of Serbia added that his goal is for the country to develop further.
"I will not have any child (soldier) come back in a coffin to any mother... I want to see our children live, plan to have their own children, plan for their grandchildren, plan to stay in this country, work in this country, love this country and be proud of their country," he stressed.
The president added that for that reason, we must be strong and will get even stronger.
"To their threats and attacks on our country - and when alliances are formed by Pristina, Tirana and Zagreb, and when others also think that they can threaten Serbia by bombing Belgrade - we will always respond calmly and say, we respect you. We have nothing against you, we will not attack you, but the only thing we can tell you - Serbia is a tough nut to crack," Vucic said.
