Heavy rain turned into snow overnight in the territory of the Zlatibor District in western Serbia. Snow cover has formed on the Zlatibor, Zlatar, Jabuka and Tara mountains, and there is snow on the roads as well.

"Maintenance crews are on the ground and working. Drivers are advised to be careful and not to go on the road without adequate winter equipment," RINA was told by Putevi Srbije (Roads of Serbia) public enterprise.

In the higher-lying areas of Prijepolje, there is up to 10 centimeters of snow in the villages of Kamena Gora, Jabuka, Babine...

Wet snow remains on the roads, which further complicates traffic in these mountainous regions.

Special caution is advised to drivers heading towards Pljevlja, on the section from Jabuka. Authorities are once again appealing on drivers to adjust their speed to road conditions, use winter equipment and avoid sudden braking, in order to prevent accidents.

According to forecasts, snow will continue to fall during the day.
