Vucic: We spoke with representatives of MOL, they expect to soon sign contract with us

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday that he spoke with MOL representatives and that they expect to sign an agreement with Serbia soon, regarding NIS.

"Today we had a conversation with representatives of MOL and they expect to sign a shareholder agreement with us soon, and I believe they will be ready for that. Of course, it isn't easy to sign it because they have some difficult conditions, we have some difficult conditions for them. In any case, ours concern is the work of the (Pancevo) refinery and the fact that we cannot take on more obligations than we had with the Russians. So, they have some demands of their own, but I believe that we will find a compromise solution and solve it," Vucic told RTS.

He added that MOL is determination is to continue the talks with both Serbians and Russians, as discussed in the previous period, and to conclude them.

Vucic reminded that the deadline for reaching an agreement has been extended until May 22, and that there is a license to operate the refinery until April 17.

"I expect and hope that the license will be extended, because we worked, our Hungarian friends worked, and I believe that J.D. Vance was informed about it during his stay in Budapest, and I think that in the worst case scenario, we should hope or expect favorable news in that regard," said Vucic.

He added that he hopes that all the projects that have been agreed with Hungary in the previous period, while Viktor Orban was the prime minister, will survive after Magyar takes office.

Vucic pointed out that "the question of all questions" is the construction of a 108-kilometer oil pipeline from Novi Sad to the town of Algyo in Hungary.
