Vucic speaks with Landau: Strategic partnership with US is important for energy and political security
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic spoke today by phone with US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau. According to a post on Vucic's official Instagram account, they had "an excellent and important conversation about bilateral cooperation, energy, regional stability and current geopolitical circumstances."
"An excellent and important conversation with Landau about bilateral cooperation, energy, regional stability and current geopolitical circumstances. Serbia attaches special importance to the development of strategic partnership and overall relations with the US, which we consider to be one of the key foreign policy partners.
We discussed strengthening energy security and stability of supplies, as well as challenges in the energy sector, including the functioning of the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS), with the aim of preserving market safety and predictability.
Speaking about regional and global trends, I said that preserving peace and stability is one of the imperatives for further development and progress of the Western Balkan region and the wider international environment.
Intensifying bilateral talks on all open issues is of key importance for strengthening trust and stability in our relations. I am convinced that Serbia and the US will continue to develop a strategic partnership through an open and continuous political dialogue," the president of Serbia wrote in the post.
