"I condemn armed attack on Trump in strongest terms": Vucic reacts to shooting in Washington

"I condemn the armed attack on US President Donald Trump and members of his family in the strongest terms," President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stated in a message posted on his official X account on Sunday.

He added that he received the news about the shooting incident in Washington with great concern, but also with relief, because President Trump and other high-ranking officials and journalists present were unharmed.

"Political violence represents cowardice in its worst form, which destroys every country and leads to even deeper divisions," Vucic wrote.

He pointed out that the fact that this incident was preceded by two attacks on President Trump is of particular concern, something he stated must be taken seriously as a clear warning, because the question arises as to what kind of message such acts are sending.

"The world is already facing too much violence and that is why Serbia strongly condemns every form of it, advocating for dialogue as the foundation of every true democracy and the only sustainable way to resolve disagreements," said Vucic.
