Ivica Dacic and Tamara Vucic see Swiss president off at Belgrade airport: Key innovation agreement signed
The president of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, has ended his official visit to Serbia. Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic saw him off at Nikola Tesla Belgrade Airport, along with the Serbian president's wife, Tamara Vucic.
Ivica Dacic later posted on his Instagram account and shared photos from the airport.
Symbolism and anniversary
This visit has a special significance because it happened in the year in which Serbia and Switzerland mark a significant anniversary - 110 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Dacic stressed that the visit represents an important step towards preserving tradition, but also building a modern partnership.
"This historic visit gave a strong momentum to our economic and political cooperation," Dacic stated in his post.
Focus on innovation and economy
In addition to protocolary meetings, the visit was also marked by the signing of concrete agreements. The most important concerns an innovation program, which should open the door to deeper cooperation in the technological sector and the modernization of the economy.
Key messages of the visit:
Strong economic impulse: Signed agreements facilitate the exchange of knowledge and technologies.
Political stability: Serbia's commitment to strengthening the partnership with Switzerland has been confirmed.
Regional importance: Switzerland remains one of Serbia's key investors and partners in Europe.
At the end of his post, Dacic wished the Swiss president a safe trip, saying that he hoped they would soon meet again, which once again confirmed the cordial relationship between the two countries.
