Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric spoke today in Jerusalem, as part of his visit to Israel, with Israeli Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana about improving bilateral relations, strengthening cooperation, and current geopolitical topics.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Djuric conveyed to Ohana his satisfaction with today's meeting, especially because it is taking place in not so simple times for Israel, stressing its importance for strengthening ties between our countries.
In this context, they also discussed the strategic dialogue between Serbia and Israel, as well as the importance of meetings and discussions within the framework of this visit.
Djuric pointed out that Serbia perceives Israel as a friendly country, stressing that relations between the two countries and the two peoples are bound by historical understanding.
Expressing his belief that the visit will provide additional momentum to overall relations and contribute to building even stronger ties, Djuric spoke about the importance of improving political dialogue at different levels, which contributes to better mutual understanding and opens up space for cooperation in numerous sectors.
The head of Serbian diplomacy also welcomed the initiative to establish the Israeli-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, assessing that it would be an important mechanism for connecting business communities and further strengthening economic ties.
He stressed the importance of parliamentary cooperation, as an important bridge of cooperation aimed at better understanding between the two peoples, especially considering the successful visit of the president of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, to Israel, last year.
